About me
about crafty little stitches
Welcome to crafty little stitches!
i have worked as a fashion designer for 20 years, designing for many of the shops you are familiar with on the high street. I also have a BA(Hons) degree in fashion/textiles.
I relocated with my family last year to a busy, social village called evercreech.
it sits on the edge of the mendip hills in beautiful somerset.
It's like coming home, as i grew up here in somerset, gaining alot of my love for craft & sewing from my mum (& BLUE peter! ) I share my homely old georgian farmhouse with my hubby & two children, which also doubles up as crafty little stitches headquarters.
I love to scour flea markets and vintage shops for fabrics and haberdashery & when I am not sewing & making I am baking, as I love a spot of afternoon tea & cake.
crafty little stitches evolved from my love of sewing & making, but also from an observation that key skills such as sewing, baking, knitting and crafting are no longer handed down from grandmother to mum to daughter.
i wanted to create something a little different for boys and girls to engage in.
my classes and workshops are great fun but also give children the chance to be creative whilst learning some fundamental key skills which hopefully will stay with them as they grow up.
Also look out for some "Pop up" adult & teen classes.

sewing
learning new embroidery stitches, applique, decorative techniques and basic sewing machine instruction are all part of each class or workshop.
knitting
learning to knit and exploring different yarns and colour.
basic instruction of casting on/off and creating different stitches.
decoration
each class is bursting with beads, bells, feathers, net, ribbons, felt and buttons.
I encourage each child to design first and then create from their design.
CRAFTING
I like to combine craft and sewing to encourage the children to use their design skills . we make lots of cool projects such as mobiles, dreamcatchers & gifts.
